Every year, fire departments across the United States host fire prevention education events aimed at educating people of all ages of the importance of fire safety. The 2016 theme is "Don't Wait CHECK the date". NFPA recommends that smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years.
Be sure to check out the NFPA website and with your local fire department about fire safety tips and your local fire department open house date and time.
