Donate to Tri-Community in 2017!

Posted on February 4, 2017 at 4:25 AM

A lot of people make new years resolutions and quickly abandon them. Tri-Community urges people to make giving back a priority in 2017!

Tri-Community is always looking for new recruits to join our proud ranks. Did you know Tri-Community is a 100% volunteer organization and 501(c)(3) charitable organization? If you are looking to donate, and ensure your dollar stays local; why not consider donating to Tri-Community!

Tri-Community receives zero taxpayer dollars from any of the towns or jurisdictions we serve. While we charge a nominal fee to ensure we have proper equipment and vehicles at the ready for the next emergency, we are always looking to raise more money to reinvest into you, our neighbors!

The cost of everything is going up. Fuel, insurance premiums, electrical and heat costs, EMS equipment and vehicle costs and medication costs. Unfortunately, we do not see price adjustments that lower our cost of operating; we normally and routinely see an increase in the cost of operations year after year. To help with project costs, Tri-Community holds fundraisers each year to help increase these accounts and make our projects a reality. Recent advancements have included our cardiac monitors, new ambulance (unit 330) and patient cot/gurneys; just to name a few.

Consider giving today!

Record Breaking Month in January 2017!

Posted on February 1, 2017 at 8:30 AM

Tri-Community would like to thank our members for a very busy and very successful first month of 2017! It is fair to say we just concluded the busiest month in company history!

While our incident numbers are still being tallied, it is safe to say we are well above this time last year! Once the data crunchers are done, we will share our results on our company website!

Even more impressive is the TOTAL VOLUNTEER HOURS and VOLUNTEER HOUR GROWTH we saw this past month! We ended the month with 3,020.50 VOLUNTEER HOURS served; which is an increase of 58.83% over this time last year. Thanks to our volunteers, we are able to manage the growth in calls received!

According to the NVFC, "the number of volunteer firefighters in the United States has declined by about 12% since 1984". Tri-Community is truly blessed and appreciative of our volunteers who continue to serve at impressive levels each year!

Pekin & Tri-Community host combined after-holiday party!

Posted on January 29, 2017 at 6:10 PM

This weekend members from Tri-Community joined our fellow responders from Pekin Fire Company in hosting our "after-holiday party". Normally, we will host a company holiday party in December, but this year we decided to try something new as the whole month of December just gets past everyone with everything that needs to be done!

Pekin Fire Company hosted our combined company party at their hall. We thank Chief Snelgrove and the entire Pekin Fire Company for their hospitality.

This past weekend again proved how close knit our company and our entire region of companies truly are. Great time by all!

On behalf of the officers and members of the Tri-Community Ambulance Service, we thank everyone who came out and had fun!

Tri-Community currently on pace to grow by 14.75% over last year in calls!

Posted on January 25, 2017 at 3:50 PM

Happy Humpday Facebook followers!

Tri-Community is proud to report we handled run #114 earlier today. If we keep up this rate, we will end the year with 1,664 calls (214 above 2016).

Why are statistics so vital to an organization? It helps monitor performance and key indicators of your organization. Tri-Community likes to monitor these statistics routinely and make adjustments where needed to ensure our residents are covered in their time of need.

How can you help Tri-Community now and in the future? Become a TCAS recruitment advocate and help us spread the word far and wide every chance you get! We are always in the market for new recruits and appreciate the word of mouth and social media shares!

Thank you in advance for your support of our company!

Tri-Community handles MCI (Car versus school bus MVA)

Posted on November 17, 2016 at 10:20 AM

Yesterday was another busy day for Tri-Community volunteers! A total of 8 calls were handled, including 1 mutual aid request and 1 motor vehicle accident involving a school bus.

For the MVA, Tri-Community would like to thank all of our responders that came out to assist which allowed for numerous ALS providers on scene as well as our Units 1 and 2. Bergholz Fire Company handled command and operations, and requested the assistance from area fire companies for coverage as well as traffic control. We would like to thank our brothers and sisters from Twin City Ambulance who responded 1 ambulance for assistance until we could determine the total number of resources that would actually be needed.

Yesterday put our responders MCI training to practice, and the incident was handled very well by all those that were involved! Close to three dozen patients were evaluated!

Thank you to representatives from the Niagara Wheatfield School District, Bergholz Fire Company, Sanborn Fire Company, Shawnee Fire Company, St. Johnsburg Fire Company, Twin City Ambulance, Niagara County Sheriffs Office, New York State Police and our very own responders from Tri-Community Ambulance!

Thanksgiving Safety Tips!

Posted on November 17, 2016 at 10:15 AM

It is hard to believe that we are almost at the start of the holiday season! In one short week, our season of thanks, caring and giving will be upon us, starting with Thanksgiving!

Holidays and gatherings should be all about family, friends, cheer and fellowship. Did you know that according to the NFPA, Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires? To help ensure a safe and enjoyable day, Tri-Community would like to stress some basic safety tips for you and your family:

1) Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stovetop

2) Don't leave home when you have items in the over or on the stove

3) Keep children away from hot food and liquids

4) Keep the floor clear of debris that can become a tripping hazard

5) Keep knives, lighters and other hazardous items away from children

Lastly, make sure your smoke detectors are working! Early detection is key to get your family to safety and prevent further losses of property!

Take the time to watch this informative video from the NFPA about Thanksgiving safety!

Daylight saving time safety reminder

Posted on November 4, 2016 at 3:30 PM

Who is excited for the extra hour of sleep this weekend? Your neighborhood friendly responders sure are!

Tri-Community reminds everyone that when you change your clocks, you should also change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors!

This upcoming Sunday (November 6, 2016) at 2am, clocks are turned BACKWARDS 1 hour for Daylight Saving Time. While most cell phones automatically change the time over for you, please remember to change those batteries this weekend as well!

Have a fun and enjoyable weekend!
